Cameron Russell

Cameron Russell is a model, writer, and organizer.
Her work leverages creative collaboration and collective storytelling to facilitate evolution.
Cameron has spent the last twenty years working as a model for clients like Prada, Calvin Klein, Victoria’s Secret, H&M, Vogue Harper's Bazaar and Elle. With over 40 million views and counting, she gave one of the top three most popular TED talks of all time on the power of image.
In 2012, she graduated with honors from Columbia University with a degree in economics and political science and wrote a thesis about grassroots cultural workers and political power. After graduating, she organized a collective of artist activists based in Brooklyn. In 2016, she cofounded the Model Mafia, a growing network of hundreds fashion models committed to building a more equitable, just, sustainable industry and world.
Awards and accolades: in 2020 she was included in the inaugural Culture Shifter list by the Huffington Post, she is the recipient of the 2018 Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Award, the Green Carpet Fashion Award’s Changemaker Award. She has twice been named Model of the Year by models.com, provider of the industry’s most influential model rankings. Her work has been recognized by the New York Times, The Guardian, Vogue, Glamour, Refinery 29, i-D, NY Mag, Business Insider, The Telegraph, CNN, NPR, and ABC. Interdisciplinary artist , Cameron is dedicated to creative collaboration and collective storytelling to build a more caring world.
